Inspired by Italy

Following Barbara's blog and watching her and her design team create beautiful artwork from Clarity Stamp products is what inspired me to set up my own blog, so that I can participate in various challenges, and thereby stretch myself to create my own original artwork.

This month's challenge is Floral. I was inspired by a scene in the curret BBC series "Italy Unpacked", which shows a fleeting glimpse of the town of Matera seen through a field of poppies.

I haven't quite decided what I'm going to do with it yet, could be a card, might frame it ...

Used Poppies and Town stencils. Background colours for the town are Old Paper and Milled Lavender Distress Inks; Scraped texture paste through the Poppy stencil and coloured them with Butterscotch, Pesto, Espresso and Lettuce Adi, Worn Lipstick Distress and Red Geranium Archival.

  1. Definitely worth a frame!! A big subject contrast between houses and poppies but how effective; it certainly shows the versatility of Clarity stencils. I also love how you have differentiated the colours between the seed-heads and flowers. Thank you for participating in Challenge 24 and good luck. ;~}
